The credencial para votar, usually called the INE, is the voter ID the Instituto Nacional Electoral issues to Mexican citizens. It is the most widely accepted photo ID in Mexico and stays valid for ten years from issue.
Banks, fintechs, lenders, and marketplaces ask for it to open accounts and sign contracts. A photo of a card does not prove it is current: INECheck asks INE's Lista Nominal service and returns its answer, so expired or unknown credentials are caught before you rely on them.
